Kayak groups exploring Mull and Iona

Achaban House is ideal as a location and exclusive self-catering accommodation for kayaking groups. The north and south coast of the Ross of Mull Peninsula, together with the Isle of Iona, offer a variety of route options for kayaking, depending on wind and sea conditions. For the more intrepid paddler other destinations could include Staffa, the Ardmeanach Peninsula and Carsaig Arches. The house has six ensuite bedrooms, sleeping up to 13 guests; for larger groups the Ross of Mull Bunkrooms is on site which is a very comfortable, well equipped self-catering cottage with 8 bunk beds in two bedrooms

The main season for kayaking on the Ross of Mull is from mid-April until mid-September. We regularly host kayaking groups and would be happy to help a group plan their trip.  We can recommend access/launch points and popular routes, and provide information about the local area to ensure a kayaking group gets the most out of their stay.

The kayaking groups that we host tell us that Achaban House is perfect for their visit, with a large dining room which can seat everyone, a spacious lounge, a large well-equipped self-catering kitchen and laundry/drying room.  Outside there is plenty of room on site for vehicles and kayaks and to hang gear to dry. After an invigorating day on the water, our guests really appreciate the wood-fired hot tub and to chill out in the garden with beautiful views of Loch Pottie. If a day out is planned, sea tours to Staffa and the Treshnish Isles and the Ferry to Iona are available from Fionnphort Pier, less than a mile away, and we can advise on many other interesting destinations to visit locally.
